Some of Our Projects
Revegetation Programs
Rangehands, Inc. is often called upon to revegetate landscapes damaged by road building, construction, wildfires, or other disruptive activities. We have created improved wildlife habitats, forage crops for livestock, and replanted farmland placed in the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). These photos illustrate several of our revegetation projects. This premium horse pasture was designed for a client near Bozeman, MT.

These “Before” and “After” photos illustrate the outcome of one of our revegetation projects, also near Bozeman, MT.

This 5000 acre ranch near Santa Barbara, California, was damaged by livestock grazing and heavy rains that caused significant erosional damage throughout the ranch. The new owner contracted Rangehands to develop a land rehabilitation program for the entire ranch. Over a 2-year period extensive earthmoving, shaping, and planting resulted in a recovered landscape. These photos show the ‘Before’ and ‘After’ of the same treatment area. We also developed a new grazing management program for the ranch to protect its enhanced resource values.

Using Rangehands’ “low-till” interseeding technique, forage production on this very dry degraded rangeland in Montana was increased from 150 lbs/A to nearly 1500 lbs/A.

The objective of this roadside rehabilitation projectin Montana was to ’seamlessly’ integrate the roadside planting into the adjacent native vegetation. These photos were taken a little over one year apart.
